RTP and House Edge Explained
RTP (Return to Player) is a game's long-term mathematical return rate — meaning how much the game theoretically pays back for every ৳100 wagered. For example, if a game has an RTP of 96%, on average ৳96 comes back for every ৳100 bet over the long run. However, this is a long-term statistic only — results in a single game session can be completely different.
Typical RTP ranges by game type:
- Slot games: generally between 92%–98%
- Blackjack (with optimal strategy): around 99%
- European Roulette: around 97.3%
- Baccarat (banker bet): around 98.9%
- Crash games: generally 95%–97%
House Edge is the opposite side of RTP — the mathematical advantage held by the casino or betting site. An RTP of 96% means a house edge of 4%. This is not the result of any manipulation — it is part of the game's mathematical design and is disclosed transparently.
Understanding RTP and house edge before playing is important for any responsible player. A higher RTP means average losses in a game are comparatively lower, but it is not a guarantee of winning. Also consider volatility or variance — high-volatility games pay out big wins rarely but in larger amounts, while low-volatility games pay out smaller wins more frequently.
Key points to remember
- RTP is a long-term statistic — results will vary from session to session.
- House edge in baccarat and blackjack is generally lower than in slots.
- Choose slots based on their volatility and your budget.
- No game guarantees a win — play for entertainment.
- Never bet more than your set budget.
